How do you get here?
In the video history Frank Boynton tells of taking the train to the cottage. From that time things progressed to the story of the 5 hour drive from Toronto when the paved road stopped at Whitby and you were lucky to have only one flat tire. Apparently in later years Frank never took the same way to the cottage twice whether he was driving from Michigan or from Toronto.
What is your favourite way? What do you give your guests as directions?
- Now that the 404 has been extended, do you head up that way to Ravenshoe and across? From there, there are several routes to take you to the Argyle Road.
- Do you go through Sunderland to stop at the variety for Kawartha Dairy ice cream or Katie’s for a bowl of homemade soup?
- Do you go along Thunder Ridge Rd to get fresh strawberries in June?
- Is the Glenarm Road your route of choice? Some folks claim that the Argyle Bakery has the best butter tarts besides Bob Burn’s Books in Fenelon.
- Other folks go through Little Britain to visit Butter Tarts and More
- Some serious folks take 35/115 and barrel straight through
- If you have a map that you created to direct folks to the shores of Cameron, do you remind guests to slow down to 20 mph on the cottage road?
